Corneal Biomechanical Measures for Glaucoma: A Clinical Approach

Over the last two decades, there has been growing interest in assessing corneal biomechanics different diseases, such as keratoconus, glaucoma, and disorders. Given interaction structural continuity between cornea sclera, evaluating may give us further insights into pathogenesis, diagnosis, progression, management of glaucoma. Therefore, some authorities have recommended baseline evaluations all glaucoma suspects patients. Currently, devices (Ocular Response Analyzer Corneal Visualization Schiempflug Technology) are commercially available for biomechanics; however, each device reports parameters, is a weak to moderate agreement reported parameters. Studies limited by inclusion subjects taking topical prostaglandin analogues, which alter contribute contradicting results, lack proper stratification patients, misinterpretation results based on factors that confounded intraocular pressure changes. This review aims summarize recent evidence patients future studies address current limitations literature studying biomechanics.
